Responsible betting
Sports betting is paid entertainment. It is never a source of income, nor a solution to a financial difficulty.
Three simple rules
Set a budget before staking and treat it as spent the moment it is committed. Never try to recover a loss with a bigger stake. Keep control of the time spent as much as of the amounts.
Warning signs
- Staking amounts you cannot afford to lose.
- Borrowing, selling or drawing on savings in order to keep staking.
- Hiding your stakes from those around you.
- Constantly thinking about past or upcoming stakes.
- Staking to escape frustration, boredom or anxiety.
- Raising the amounts to recover the same intensity.
Tools required of licensed operators
- Deposit and stake limits, raised only after a cooling-off period.
- Permanent access to the full history of account activity.
- Temporary or permanent self-exclusion with the operator.
- Voluntary exclusion with the Autorité nationale des jeux, applying to every licensed operator.
- Mandatory age verification when the account is opened.
Protecting minors
Online betting is strictly forbidden to anyone under 18. If a minor uses your device, parental controls can restrict access to the relevant content — Family Link, Screen Time or an equivalent network-level filter.
